Chrome jets, will they pit?

We have been researching hot tubs for a couple of months now and are just starting to wet test them.
I would not get chrome jets as an option, but on the optima they are standard equipment. I know by reading this board for the past week that there are plenty of satisfied optima owners.

Has any one had chrome jets for say 5-10 years? I am wondering if they "pit" after awhile. We have not wet tested the optima yet.

They are Stainless steel on the optima.

Granted we've only had our spa for a year, but so far the rings around the jets look like they did when they were new.

15 months and mine still look like new.  I'm not an optima owner, but I believe they are the same jets.

Eventually they will start to pit, the time frame is dependent on how well you maintain the balance of the water and the hardness.
