Spas and fertility

(1/2) > >>

wmccall:
I just partially caught some news radio story about spas and fertility suggesting spas lower the chance for fertilization for both men and women.

But the study (didn't catch the details to judge the credability) also suggests that the heat may not be good for developing fetuses and that the damage can be done early in term before some women may even know they are pregnant.

FWIW.

There I go again being a "pseudo doctor"  Sorry Paul.

Brewman:
I've heard the same for men.
Have not heard anything regarding women, though.

Interesting.

Could be an added benefit of hottubbing depending on where you are at in life.  Personally, I don't want anymore kids and this is a lot les painful and more fun then getting snipped (excuse the imagery).  Thanks for the update.  Who would of thought my spa provides birth control too.  Could have been able to talk the wife into this sooner if I had known that. ;D

Spa_Tech:
YES.

Yes, heat does affect fertility- especially for the guys.

On one occasion I ran into one of my customers and asked him how his spa was,... his responce was, "Im not allowed to use it..." When I asked why, we had a short discussion about how the hot water was affecting his 'guys'...

One step further; I saw once- and cant remember where exactly- there were some men (Scandinavian I think.) experimenting with soaking thier testicles in hot water as a means of birth control. These fellas seemed to make a science of it, even creating a chair, not unlike a 'potty' chair so they could sit as they soaked their family jewels in piping hot water. Apparently, they have had good success with it...though like everything else- not a 100% reliable.

Brewman:
I've heard that for couples having difficulty conceiving, it's boxer shorts, not jockeys.
