Jim - his wiring is undersized, don't you agree?
Tleo:
I think you are right about the 8 gauge wire. I talked to an electrician today and he told me the same thing. I guess that means I am going to need to run new wire either way. I was hoping I wouldn't have to but I guess I will. Hopefully that won't add too much to the cost.
I'm still confused about how you change the setting on the J480, though? How do I configure it for 60A service? Is it done via the installation of a jumper, via the control panel or will it just work automatically without me doing anything? The owners manual suggests something needs to be done but I'm not sure exactly what that is.
Thanks for all the help!
Jacuzzi Jim:
I would go with#6 as well. As far as the setting you don't have to do anything, it will accept 50 or 60amp If it is the J1000 controller? If its not then you will have to change it.
Tleo:
It is the J1000 controller. Do I need to change a setting in the menu or will it adjust automatically?
Thanks again.
Jacuzzi Jim:
Should be fine on it's own.
