going rate for a plumber

Just curious...what is the current hourly rate for a plumber in different parts of the country? My plumber just increased his hourly rate by $ $35.00 an hour from last year this time... :o

I just paid our plumber $98/hr for the first hour and $58/hr after that. He fixed our hot water heater in under an hour so the bill was only $98.00

Well, I was wondering because my plumber charged $65.00 and hour just one year ago and today I got his bill for some work on my water filter and it was at $100.00 an hour. So the 2 1/2 hours of work cost me $250.00. (no break for the second hour). I guess I was surprised at the increase.  :-/

Sorry to hear about you plumbing problems but up here our rates are about the same.  $100 for the first hour and $65 for every hour there after.

I think the first $100 includes the trip charge ;)

Water Boy:
All this talk about plumbers and their rates must have jinxed me. I will be calling a plumber in the morning due to a drainage problem. :'(

I will let you know what the going rate is then! >:(
