I woke up on Wednesday to 10 inches
spahappy:
of heavy wet snow!! By the time the storm was over we had record accumulations of over two feet. The whole town was without power and some still are.
The snow came before our first frost. This was devastating to the trees as their leaves acted like webs to catch the heavy wet snow. Initial estimates are that the town has lost over 50% of our mature trees. :'( :'(
We were finally dug out late Thursday mostly by my 16 year old daughter( it's amazing how hard a teenage girl will work who has been cut off from phones, internet and TV, to see her friends again)
I was without power for 28 hours and the temp got down to 12 degrees with 45 mile winds. I'm happy to say that my Coleman 706 only lost two degrees. The cover didn't fare well because a huge branch fell on it and tore the vinyl.
I'm back to work today and as soon as we dig out the parking lot we're gonna sell stoves and fireplaces like there's no tomarrow. ;)
drewstar:
Stoves and fireplaces? I did not know that.
Please tell me your a quadrafire rep. ?
Oh, yea, glad that you weatehred the storm with minimal damage. I am sorry to hear about the trees....
spahappy:
Quadrafire is one of our best sellers. I also sell Jotul, Heat n Glo, and Regency. BTW gas stoves and fireplaces will run in a power outage so we stayed nice and toasty during the power outage. Had to go to bed much earlier than normal which made my hubby happy. ::)
Spatech_tuo:
Talk about "bait and switch"; you should get a nice draw with that subject line! ;D
stuart:
Wow! I'm jealous! (OF THE SNOW!) I'm soo ready for winter. 8)
