2010 JACUZZI FILL VOLUME

(1/1)

pepperboy:
I have conflicting information on fresh water fill for a J 375.  Jacuzzi says the capacity is 530 gallons and that is the fill amount.  My dealer says to fill it with about 400 gallons.  This should be the amount necessary to bring the water level to just below the head pillows.  The gallon amount comes into play most importantly for measuring the chemicals though...so do I use the 530 or the 400 gallon figure?  My J 375 is the single lounger and was manufactured in March of 2010.  HELP PLEASE!

Pick one, or pick a number half way between. The amount of chemicals needed varies with the amount of water being one factor.  If you decide to use x amount of chemicals and your water isn't staying clean and clear, you will decide to use more.  If you go to use your tub a day later and the sanitizer is too high, you will use less next time.   Don't over think the chemical routine.

Its 7'7"sq and 38" deep. 530 gallons seems a bit high for those dimensions (Maybe someone fromt eh Marketing department determined that lol) but 400 seems very low for that size. Personally I'd assume 475 (or 500 for a nice round number) and call it a day.

My J-370 is essentially the same size as your newer model.  Mine holds right around 500 gallons.  However, the actual volume is far less important than you may think.  As others have pointed out, you will likely NEVER measure your chemicals based on the volume.  And chemical usage in these things can (and should) be MUCH MUCH more simple than some think.  I initially used di-chlor and the minerals but quickly learned that with the CD ozone, the only thing that was needed is a couple of TABLESPOONS of di-chlor after each soak.  For the first 3 or 4 years, I would soak 2 to 3 times a week and this routine was more than enough.  In the past year or so, I have backed down to once a week and sometimes only once every 2 weeks.  Guess what, the same EXACT ritual is also sufficient for those periods as well (a couple of tablespoons a week is MORE then enough to maintain good water condition).

What happens when done this way is that the chlorine is consumed and each soak is basically in clean, clear water with no chemical smell.
