--- Quote ---What's amazing is that 1,800 people have viewed the ebay page. I think it would cost more to ship it then to buy it.

The shipping could be as low as fitty cent a mile - go to -
www.Uship.com
It's a site where you can find truckers who need a load to get back home, or who need a load to fill out a partial truck. This seems to be a great resource for any of us who need things shipped, even spas, gazebos, large quantites, small quantities, etc.
Wow - got dangerously close to being on topic there. Sorry.
OK - now as to the over 1800 people who have viewed the listing - I have mentioned it on this web board and on one of the antique tractor web boards. It jumped several hundred views within a couple of hours of those two posts going online. What I find amazing is that close to 40 people are "watching" this auction. That means that there are going to be some folks trying to snipe.
So if you want this you had better bid now! I hope to get around ten grand or so for it. It is very rare...
I plan to settle for slightly less. I actually had it sold for $800 with all the extra goodies, but the guy never ponied up. Hey - I need the room in the warehouse for spas!
8-)

From what I remember, there weren't nothin better than an 8N Ford tractor. When I was a kid, my father bought one with a front end loader to do some work on a piece of property he owned. He was able to re-sell it at a profit when he was done using it.
I understand that particular tractor was very popular with small farmers and when Ford stopped making it, it about crippled them. If I remember correctly, after Ford stopped making the 8N the only alternative was an imported Soviet bloc tractor (which was originally based on Henry Ford's design!) I think the Japanese have picked up the slack since then with their Kubotas and such.
-This also gives you an idea of the sort of useless (and probably mostly inaccurate) information I have floating in my noggin.

You have it all just right Rich.
If you want to see how many people are still interested in these old tractors, go to this web discussion board - there is a registry where you can look up tractors by serial number and see who owns which tractor. There are also ads from people who restore these. Still very popular, and now you can buy new ones made in Korea and other Asian nations.
