Cloudy Water
« on: October 28, 2014, 08:27:23 am »
We've had our Bullfrog Hot Tub for approximately 3 months. Love it but our water is cloudy. We check the water every week - the bromine is always zero even though we have a floater with tabs and add 2-3 caps of powdered. We are also cleaning the filters every 2 weeks.  Please help! thanks.

Do you have a UV sterilizer?

Sounds like your PH may be too high.

Give it a large dose of shock.  Add a small amount of clarifier.  You may also want to increase the filter cycles.  The factory default is only 2 hours, twice per day.

Your spa has probably had a ton of use in those 3 months?   I would just drain it and start over and cruise though Feb or March to change it again.    You can always nuke it with chems but often times it is just a band aid at that point and a waste of chems..    Nothing like fresh water.  :)

There's nothing like the crispness of the bubbles in fresh water. 3 months is not out of line for a water change. Unless it's a big deal to change the water.

oops, wasn't paying attention to how long the water had been in there.  I agree with what the others posted......time to do a drain and refill for sure.
